SHI Director of Marketing Operations in Somerset, New Jersey

Job Summary

Global IT solutions provider, SHI International, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Marketing Operations. Responsible for creating and delivering the martech and project management strategies that will drive marketing efficiency and success. The Director of Marketing Operations will join the SHI marketing leadership team and will manage teams that support SHI’s martech platforms (primarily Marketo, Dynamics 365 and Monday.com), analytics and reporting (GA4 and PowerBI) and project management.

The successful candidate will have proven success in developing a highly proficient Marketing Operations function for a B2B organization (technology preferred but not essential) and managing hybrid/remote teams. They will be a strong player/coach with the ability to help develop career paths for team members.

An excellent communicator, the successful candidate will be able to work closely with C-level stakeholders, external agencies and co-workers across other SHI functions (IT, Ecommerce, Sales Operations, Finance etc.).

The Director Marketing Operations is an ambassador for the marketing function in the wider SHI organization. They will act with professionalism and the appropriate demeanor at all times, helping ensure that the marketing function is a respected business partner to sales and other teams at SHI.

This role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements (Mondays and Fridays working remote) and will be based in one of the following SHI offices:

  • Somerset, NJ

  • Austin, TX

  • Bethlehem, PA

  • Charlotte, NC

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Owning and optimizing the marketing technology stack (most notably, Marketo and Monday.com), supporting the technology roadmap for marketing at SHI

  • Working with SHI’s CRM team to ensure full integration of the martech stack and effective lead routing, scoring and tracking.

  • Supporting the marketing organization and wider SHI business with effective marketing reporting and analysis (Power BI, Marketo, Dynamics CRM, Google Analytics etc.)

  • Defining and supporting the appropriate processes to streamline the delivery of marketing programs and tasks

  • Supporting planning and budgeting cycles (quarterly, half-yearly, annually)

  • Working with marketing leadership to support the evolution of the marketing function and structure at SHI

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing the process and workflow of marketing requests both within the marketing team and coming into marketing from external stakeholders. Providing process optimization and governance through maintenance of process documentation, gathering and acting on data and feedback, implementation of improvements and ensuring adherence to best practice (Proven success with a PMO platform is essential, experience with Monday.com is strongly preferable).

  2. Providing and managing technologies to ensure all relevant stakeholders have visibility and can play an active part in the fulfilment of approved requests. Ensuring SHI is leveraging the full value of marketing technology investments. Development of a technology strategy to support changing business requirements and take into account changes and developments in marketing technology, working in conjunction with SHI’s internal IT team. Ensuring the successful selection, implementation and adoption of marketing technologies across Marketing Communications and key stakeholders. Key technologies in use today include Marketo (including Marketo Measure), PowerBI, GA4, Dynamics, ZoomInfo.

  3. Working with internal and external stakeholders to define and enforce data quality and governance standards for all marketing-related technologies (including those not directly owned by marketing) to ensure data is fit for purpose for marketing needs and can be used effectively by sales for the purposes of account intelligence and marketing handover/follow-up.

  4. Marketing performance measurement and analysis . Implementing standardized reporting across marketing campaigns, together with a continuous review and improvement program. Building data and analytics capabilities to support effective reporting, and delivery of management dashboards to provide marketing leadership with insights into marketing and campaign performance to support continual improvement and future decision-making.

  5. Financial reporting and analysis to support the development of budgets and financial planning, working closely with SHI’s finance team.

Qualifications

  • Must have previously led or held a senior position in an established Marketing Operations team, preferably in the B2B technology sector (3yrs+ at senior level)

  • Proficiency in both ownership and hands-on management of the Marketo marketing automation platform is preferable, as is experience with Power BI and Dynamics CRM

  • Must have previous team leadership experience, ideally of remote / hybrid team

Required Skills

  • A process-driven approach to managing workflows and activity management

  • An analytical mind, capable to help both define and report against KPIs relevant to different campaigns and activity types

  • Strong multi-tasking skills, able to simultaneously dive into detail and retain a global view

  • Effective self- and team-management skills (both on-site and remote), to keep all team members on task and to protect efficiency by eliminating distractions

  • Strong communications skills – both in terms of clarity of instruction to marketing stakeholders and the ability to gain understanding and respect for the marketing organization with external stakeholders

Unique Requirements

  • Up to 10% travel required

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
